This is best Modern history book in my opinion.
History has vast syllabus but forms only a third part of GS paper 1.Thus Benefit-cost ratio in History is quite low.Skimming through boring novel like books not only takes time but also don’t give complete exam specific picture from Layman perspective. As a layman one needs to know the events their causes in crystal and concise form, not drown theories of historians who often try to build a comprehensive picture from their own lens.Such sophisticated analysis based books is not only overkill but are also time consuming and in my opinion not relevant from Layman perspective.
This book by PMF IAS has many benefits –
1) Colourful hence reading is entertaining
2) crisp n concise thus can be covered easily
3) Neither too deep nor too shallow hence best for layman understanding of modern history
4) Has maps at all relevant places so that you don’t waste time in googling historic maps
5) Maps are brilliant extremely high-definition crystal clear so you will get geographic image of events set in your mind
Looking at benefit -cost ratio this is the optimum book available in market in my opinion.Hence should be made as a base book by every aspirant.
If time permits then upsc aspirants can read other books 4 improvisation (though in my opinion improvisation in history is foolishness a complete waste of time) and State PCS aspirants should not pic any other book apart from this book you will be overburdening yourself.
All the best Tigers !!!!

Amazing book for pre and mains
I have been using your Geography and Environment books and I know how good quality content you provide
That’s why I started reading Modern History notes.
All things have been explained in comprehensive manner with proper reasoning.
Although it is bulky but once read there’s no need for any other source for pre or mains.

MH Made Easy
PMF Materials are by default awesome.
This MH book was very easy to understand when I was readinng for the first time, and also easy to REVISE.
Summary section, timeline, pictographs and index make it easy to revise.
PYQs are given in the related topics itself.
For now, I can say that it is better than Spectrum. (I’ve read first 20 chapters only, as rest are not released yet)
I wish AMAC book gets released too. (before this prelims).

Good source
Content is good for upsc and State psc . Better than spectrum because it is comparatively easy to understand it . Spectrum has unnecessary info + spectrum doesn’t clarify various things .
For example this pdf has pictures , present day names of places , area belong to which state etc
Spectrum is boring while this pdf is colourful and easy to understand .
