I suggest you complete the current notes and later revise from the new notes. In 2019 I will be providing a short revision of the notes as well. Reading the new notes may not consume much of your time as by then you will have a good command on the subject.

– Almost, but environment is a diverse and dynamic topic. My notes gives you basics an the rest have be done from Current affairs.
– Most of the questions in Prelims and Mains are asked from current affairs. But without basics grasping current affairs is hard. This is very my notes comes handy.
“Is there need to read Shankar IAS post working on your notes? (Cost to Benefit ?)”
– I don’t think so. Going for multiple sources is an overkill.
“How to approach notes from Pre & Mains perspective”
– As I mentioned for Geography use the DOC file to make a short notes for quick revisions (a seperate notes for Prelims and Mains).
– Be regular with current affairs. Add current affiars under related topics in my notes. Linking Current affairs with static part is very important.
– UPSC is asking some really strange questions on flora and fauna (it’s really hard to remember names of so many plants, animals, enedangered species, biodiversity hotspots, etc.). You need to proritize news related to critical flora and fauna and make a list for quick revision (for prelims).
There are no definite rules. UPSC is very dynamic. You need to give importance to both static and dynamic.
